Bulk barcode generator
Paste a list or upload a CSV, then download every barcode as a PNG or SVG in one ZIP. Free, no sign-up, and the list never leaves your browser.
How to make barcodes in bulk from an Excel list
- Copy the column of codes in Excel or Google Sheets and paste it into the box, or upload the sheet saved as CSV.
- Pick the barcode type. Retail products scanned at a till need UPC-A in the US and Canada or EAN-13 elsewhere; stock, asset and bin labels use Code 128.
- Check the preview and the skipped lines, then download the ZIP. Every file is named after its code, and index.csv lists them all.
Code 128, UPC-A or EAN-13
| Type | What it holds | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Code 128 | Letters, digits, dashes and symbols, up to 48 characters here | SKUs, inventory and bin locations, asset tags, serial numbers, shipping references |
| UPC-A | 12 digits; type 11 and the check digit is added | Retail products sold in the US and Canada, with a GTIN licensed from GS1 US |
| EAN-13 | 13 digits; type 12 and the check digit is added | Retail products sold outside North America, and books (ISBN 978/979) |
Bulk barcode generator FAQ
Is the bulk barcode generator free?
Yes. The ZIP of PNG or SVG files is free for up to 1,000 codes per batch, with no account and no watermark. Only printing the codes onto Avery 5160 sheets as a PDF uses an account: three sheets are free on sign-up, then Pro is $9 a month.
Is my list uploaded anywhere?
No. The barcodes are drawn and zipped by your browser. The list you paste or the CSV you choose never leaves your computer, so stock lists and unreleased product codes stay private.
How do I make barcodes in bulk from Excel?
Select the column of codes in Excel or Google Sheets, copy it and paste it into the box. Or save the sheet as CSV and upload it: the generator uses the column headed code, barcode, SKU, UPC, EAN or GTIN, and otherwise the first column.
What size do the PNG files print at?
Each PNG is 600 DPI and says so in the file, so Word, Google Docs and label software place it at its real size. UPC-A and EAN-13 come out at 102.6% of the GS1 nominal size (0.339 mm bars); Code 128 uses 0.254 mm (10 mil) bars, which every handheld and phone scanner reads.
What happens to a UPC with the wrong last digit?
It is listed and left out of the ZIP, with the check digit it should have. A wrong check digit usually means a mistyped digit somewhere in the number, and only you can tell which one. An 11-digit UPC or a 12-digit EAN is fine: the check digit is added for you.
What are the files called?
Each file is named after its code, for example WH-A01-0001.png. Characters that are not allowed in file names become underscores, repeated codes are skipped, and the ZIP includes index.csv listing every file next to its code for a mail merge.
